HOW TO GET THE BEST VIEW OF NIAGARA FALLS?
Oh man, where to begin.
Ok so first thing to know is that the ultimate way to get the best views is with an all-inclusive walking tour of Niagara Falls because it lets you see the Falls from every angle while hearing fascinating stories and legends.
If you’re more of the do it yourself type of person, there are other great Niagara Falls viewing experiences to choose from.
VIEW NIAGARA FALLS FROM THE PARKWAY
This is a fantastic option to view Niagara Falls that millions of visitors choose every year.
You can literally stand just a few feet away from where the water goes over the edge of the Horseshoe falls (but please don’t try and reach over the railing, that doesn’t usually end well) or walk along the parkway to get different viewing angles.
Niagara Falls is one of the most frequently photographed places in the world for good reason, there are a lot of great angles to choose from.
In fact Forbes Magazine says Niagara Falls is the most instagrammed waterfall in the world with over 3 million hashtags and counting at last count on September 10, 2019.
To put that into perspective, the second most popular waterfall on Instagram (Argentina’s Iguazu Falls), had just 343,037 hashtags at the same time, 90% less than Niagara Falls.
VIEW NIAGARA FALLS FROM ABOVE
“We must constantly endeavor to find a new point of view.”
(Tom Shulman, Dead Poets Society)
There’s nothing like the birds eye point of view when it comes to seeing Niagara Falls from a whole new perspective.
If you’re looking to view Niagara Falls from high above the water line there's no better way to do so than from inside a Niagara Helicopter during a fly over tour of Niagara Falls.
If that's not right for you, the next best thing is to take a ride up the exterior elevator of the iconic Skylon Tower to get a 360 degree view of the entire city, including the Falls, from an observation deck.
Either way we highly recommend you try and go on a clear day. There is nothing more disappointing than getting all the way up there only to be staring at fog the whole time.
The same can be said for staying in a Fallsview room in one of the nearby hotels overlooking Niagara Falls in terms of both the impressive views and the importance of a clear day to experience them properly.
VIEW NIAGARA FALLS FROM BELOW
Niagara Falls has been making people feel small for centuries and this is still one of the best parts of the experience for travelers today.
There’s no better way to feel small than by getting an up close and personal view from the bottom.
For this, your best bet would be to buy a ticket on the world famous boat tour of Niagara Falls offered by Niagara City Cruises which takes you as close to the bottom of the falls as can safely be done.
The boat tour is included in several of our Niagara Falls tours.
If this level of thrill is not your thing, another excellent way to get a view from the bottom of Niagara Falls is through the Tunnel Experience.
The experience includes exploring a 2,200 long tunnel before enjoying a panoramic view from a platform at the edge of the Niagara River.
VIEW NIAGARA FALLS FROM “BEHIND”
Last but certainly not least is the view that we made sure to include as a featured attraction on several of our Niagara Falls tour packages.
Take a Journey “behind” Niagara Falls where you’ll feel a thunderous vibration while staring up this 13 story marvel.
This is a classic attraction and remains a popular favorite among visitors from all over the world.
Walk Niagara Tours offers all-inclusive walking tours of Niagara Falls. Our tour guides lead groups 7 days a week between April and November.
