7 THINGS YOU'LL SEE ON A NIAGARA FALLS BOAT TOUR
Posted on May 1st, 2026. Niagara Falls, Canada
One of the absolute highlights included during our Niagara Falls tour packages is the iconic boat tour that acts as the climax to both the Niagara Falls adventure tour and the Best of Niagara Falls tour.
It likely goes without saying that the #1 draw of the attraction is the up close and personal experience visitors get of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, but you’ll also get to see more interesting sights while on board that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
1. American Falls
Your journey begins with a stunning view of the American Falls. Stretching wide across the river, these powerful cascades crash dramatically over jagged rocks below. From the boat, you’ll truly appreciate their scale and feel the mist rising from their base.

2. Bridal Veil Falls
Many of our guests are surprised to learn that there is more than 1 falls to enjoy, there are actually 3! Right beside the American Falls is the small but beautiful Bridal Veil Falls. Named for its delicate, veil-like appearance, this elegant cascade is separated by Luna Island on the American side and offers one of the most picturesque views on the tour.
3. Canadian Horseshoe Falls
The granddaddy of them all, the one you see in all the movies, post cards and Instagram pictures. As your boat moves deeper into the mist, you’ll come face-to-face with the massive Horseshoe Falls the largest and most powerful of the three. The roar is thunderous, the mist is intense, and the experience is quite frankly unforgettable.

4. Rainbows in the Mist
On sunny days, the mist created by the Falls often produces vibrant rainbows that arc across the gorge. Seeing a rainbow up close (and sometimes even surrounding the boat) is a magical moment for those lucky to experience it and a favorite for photographers.

5. Maid of the Mist
As you journey along in the Hornblower boat on the Canadian side, you’ll often spot the American counterpart, the famous Maid of the Mist. Watching both boats navigate the swirling waters adds to the excitement and gives perspective on the shared wonder of the Falls.
6. Skylon Tower
Looking up from the river, you’ll see the Skylon Tower rising high above the skyline. This iconic observation tower offers panoramic views of the Falls and from your spot on the boat, it serves as a reminder of just how deep into the gorge you’ve traveled.

7. Rainbow Bridge and International Border
At the start and finish of the boat tour, you’ll be close to the Rainbow Bridge, which connects Canada and the United States. It’s a unique moment where you’re floating right along the international border between two countries.
OTHER BONUS SIGHT YOU MIGHT SEE DURING THE BOAT TOUR.
If you’re keeping your eyes open, there’s even more to spot:
- The swirling, powerful currents of the Niagara River
- Cliffside viewpoints filled with visitors watching from above
- Birds
