WHAT TO WEAR ON NIAGARA FALLS TOURS
The average temperature in Niagara Falls Canada ranges all the way from 0 degrees in February to 27 degrees in July. Some days can certainly be colder or warmer than these monthly averages.
Getting all 4 distinct seasons makes Niagara Falls a beautiful place to visit any time of year, but it does make the decision of what to wear on Niagara Falls tours a bit tricky at times.
Hopefully we can help!
WHAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE WITH YOU ON A NIAGARA FALLS TOUR
Regardless of the weather there are 3 things everyone should have with them during their tour of Niagara Falls.
- Comfortable running shoes
- Money for souvenirs and tips

We usually recommend that each couple, group or family have a small bag or backpack with them to carry a few supplies with them.

THINGS YOU ARE SUPPLIED DURING YOUR TOUR OF NIAGARA FALLS
One understandable question many people have about our Niagara Falls tours is if they’ll get wet or not.
While walking along the Niagara parkway there are some areas where you’ll feel the mist from the falls, this usually isn’t enough to actually make a person wet.
Some of the attractions are a different story, but this is where you’ll be given a complimentary poncho to help keep you dry.
Both the Journey Behind the Falls and the Niagara Falls boat tour attractions (which are included in 2 of our Niagara Falls tour packages) offer free rain ponchos for you to wear and take home with you. They are especially handy on rainy days because you can wear them everywhere you go!
When you book and walk with us, you’ll also be given a special VIP badge and lanyard to wear for the duration of your Niagara Falls tour. This helps identify you and others as part of the group to make priority access and safety easier to manage.
WHAT TO WEAR ON A NIAGARA FALLS TOUR DURING THE SUMMER
It can get downright balmy in Niagara Falls Canada with climbing temperatures and high humidity.
On the other hand it can also feel about 10 degrees cooler when you’re close to the falls so it’s often best to dress in layers during summer tours with a short sleeve shirt as your primary top and perhaps an optional thin long sleeve on hand as well.
Other things you should have with you during a Niagara Falls tour in the summer:
- Sunscreen
- Baseball cap or wide brim hat
- Water
- Sunglasses (especially handy to help protect your eyes from the reflections off the water)
There are plenty of places to pause in the shade and some indoor stops as well but it’s still smart to be prepared for the heat!
WHAT TO WEAR ON NIAGARA FALLS TOURS DURING THE WINTER
It’s not always cold year round in Canadian cities like Niagara Falls (despite what many may think) but there are some days in January and February that can live up to the stereotype.
